I love learning, listening, and experimenting. I bring attention to animals and the environment in my work. I love noticing nature, and I hope my work inspires others to pause, observe the patterns that nature provides, and engage with the natural world around them. Being in nature and not worrying about the busyness of our days brings me peace, and carrying that sense of calm into my work gives me a deeper sense of purpose. I use as few new materials as possible. Inspiration often comes from repurposed materials I find. Recently, in addition to watercolor and digital art, I’ve started using found objects combined with natural elements to create tactile art that everyone can enjoy, even those with visual or sensory differences.

Interview

How does your mission as an artist influence the work you create?
I create best when I am inspired by an issue I am passionate about. I try to use as many environmentally friendly materials as possible and repurpose items as often as I can. I also love to work with other creators who share my values.

How do you hope your art impacts the world or your community?
I hope people will act because of the artivism, and with some of my work I hope it evokes laughter or consideration. If it makes people think or relax, that would be the best reaction.
