Interview
What inspires your art practice and keeps you motivated?
Nature in all forms—florals, mountains, oceans, wildlife.
How does your mission as an artist influence the work you create?
I strive to capture the beauty in everyday nature. Sometimes this means painting an incredible mountain range from a trip on the other side of the world, and other days it looks like a painting of a tiny wildflower growing in the cracks of my sidewalk.
Can you share a key part of your creative process that helps you stay focused?
Getting outside! Fresh air and a break from screens do wonders for the creative mind.
What mindset tip do you rely on to overcome challenges in your art career?
There will be chapters in your life, good and bad, where art might not be at the forefront, and that’s okay. You can pick back up where you left off and have even more inspiration once you get there.
How do you hope your art impacts the world or your community?
I hope my paintings remind others to slow down and appreciate the beautiful planet we are lucky enough to call home. To unplug, take a moment in nature, and do their part in preserving it for future generations.
